Shock news: Not much sex happening on Valentine’s day!

Valentine’s day is supposed to be the most romantic day of the year. The day when couples make time for each other and go out on special dates, the day when romantic hopefuls send out cards or flowers, and the day when, one way or another, we all hope to be having sex by the end of the night!

But no. It seems that it’s just not happening for a great number of people! A recent C-date poll showed that 35% cannot remember having had sex on Valentine’s day! A further 44% said they have only had sex on Valentine’s day once or twice and only 22% said they ‘usually’ have sex on the special day.

With such poor results from traditional methods, it’s no wonder C-date is becoming the popular destination for Valentine’s hopefuls!

High expectations on Valentine’s day

Most of us get at least a little bit excited about Valentine’s Day. The most romantic day of the year is an occasion when it’s natural to expect a bit more attention from our love interests and when we go to all sorts of lengths to get it. Billions of dollars are spent on flowers and chocolates, restaurants are fully booked.

For singles it is a night when anything can happen as many meet up with friends and go looking for adventure in bars and clubs. Singles feel extra pressure to find someone on this night when millions of couples around the world are celebrating their love. It’s a moment where they are more likely to ‘go the extra mile’ to get together with someone and when nobody wants to go home alone.

And yet, despite all these expectations, all the gifts and all our efforts, February the 14th leaves so many disappointed: The C-date survey asked “Have you ever had sex on Valentine’s day”. Only 22% of men and 23% of women answered “Yes, I usually have sex on Valentine’s day.”

Why is it all going so terribly wrong?

We think that many people are too romantic on Valentine’s day. Valentine’s has come to be associated with a soppy, chivalrous kind of romance that just isn’t very sexy any more. All the roses and cards may make for touching romantic gestures, but they’re not really turning anybody on. At worst Valentine’s has become a passionless routine that people feel obliged to adhere to.

Put the excitement back into Valentine’s day

At C-date you can arrange a Valentine’s date with a difference. There is no better place to be upfront about your Valentine’s expectations. Women and men can be honest with each other and explore their fantasies knowing that most people on the site are looking for adventure as well.

That’s why C-date customers are very active in early February, exchanging messages and making arrangements to ensure their Valentine’s season is successful. Often people will meet up on Valentine’s day itself, some even for the first time. A first date with another C-date user is a sure way to have an exciting Valentine’s day.
